An Invitation from Weary to Worship

An Invitation from Weary to Worship

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

{2 Corinthians 4:16}

When you are tired and weary, where do you turn to renew your supply? Do you turn to coffee or escape through distractions? You may be fed up with falling asleep on your Bible (true story), and your heart is more worn and thinned-out than the knees of your leggings for lack of prayer. Maybe you want to spend time with God—you crave it more than your morning coffee—your heart is longing to wake up to more of Him.

If you’re like me, you desire to be the best you can be for your people as well as for God. Yet sometimes? You feel like you are not enough or like you are not doing enough.

My desire is to help you connect with the only source that can meet all your needs, Jesus. In returning to his Word you will find an endless supply of grace for your day—grace enough for whatever you might face. At the depth of your greatest weakness is where His power is made most perfect!

Look at this hope from 2 Corinthians 4:16, The Message

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.

What you can expect in this 31 day series from Weary to Worship:

Each day will be a new post with a short devotional reading plus a Bible verse of the day that relates to a word theme for the week. That means over seven days, the word theme will weave through each entry. Each week will cover a new theme.

Themes for this series include:

  • waiting
  • hidden
  • carry
  • rest, renew, restore

After each devotional reading, I will guide you through a simple 5-step meditation on a single verse. The scripture will relate directly to the theme (for example, “renew”, as seen in the verse mentioned above).

The theme will be an idea that you can think and pray about in the midst of your day, to remind you of the goodness of God’s love for you and who you are with Him.

How will this series benefit you?

My prayer is that through this series we will find refreshment for our weary souls by turning our thoughts and hearts to worship through the promises we find in the Bible.

In the next four weeks we will focus on four themes in this way:

  • How to wait well.
  • How we are hidden in Christ.
  • How God carries us.
  • How to find rest, renewal, and be restored.

When we think of worship we might automatically picture singing praise songs at church. I want us to see how we can spend our everyday moments as worship to God simply by being in relationship with him. This starts by connecting with Him through his Word and through prayer.

I want to show you how we can do this in just a few minutes at the start of the day, and carry it with us as we go about our regular routine with something to lift our weary souls.

Everyone can feel weary at times. It can be hard to get a moment to breath or spend time renewing your heart and mind. I pray that you will be restored to the heart of God through His word and the power of personal prayer.
